Set 1 What are the most important survival items to pack for a mountain expedition? Set 2 What is the most important equipment to pack for a mountain expedition? Set 3 What are the most important clothes to pack for a mountain expedition? Set 4 What are the most important health items to pack for a mountain expedition? Pupils discuss the merits of each item in a set and rank them from most to least important by sticking them on the blank template. KS1&2 Saint George and the Dragon story and sequencing activity. Learning objective: To sequence and retell the story of’ Saint George and the dragon’ in order. Pupils cut out the images and descriptions and sequence the story onto a storyboard template. There are three templates attached which support differentiation and reading levels. HA template is numbered only and pupils order the story into the numbered boxes. MA is differentiated using key words from the main text in the numbered boxes. LA pupils can order the story into the numbered boxes with the support of key sentences which they can match to the main text. Included is a simplified story of George and the Dragon which I have adapted for Primary aged pupils which could be used in an assembly or to start a lesson. There is also a link to a Youtube clip about the story.

KS2 set of 2 differentiated Geography physical features of the Arctic worksheets. Worksheet 1 – Match the key physical feature vocabulary (ocean, coastline, sea ice, river, mountain, glacier, iceberg) to the photographs. KS2 English/Drama 36 slide power-point lesson about the Willow Pattern story which includes pupil resources and a lesson plan (slides 29-36). This lesson can be used as a follow up to Lesson 1 (also for sale!) or as a discrete lesson. The lesson start focuses on the poem, vocabulary and meaning of the story linked to corresponding images. The main body of the lesson concentrates on developing key words to describe characters, learning and practising Chinese rituals and greetings for use in the small group drama activity and using drama freeze frames or frozen pictures to depict scenes from the story. There is opportunity for the groups to develop dialogue and use the rituals in their own role play scenarios. At the end of the lesson pupils are encouraged to perform their role play scenario and receive feedback against specific criteria. Includes 10 iconic ,interesting and very different types of British Bridges including Clifton Suspension, Tyne Bridge, Forth Bridge, Tees Transporter, Gateshead Millenneum Bridge, Tower Bridge, Severn Bridge, Menai Suspension, Tarr Steps Bridge and Infinity Bridge. Each fact sheet includes information on the different structure of the bridges, simple dimensions, brief historical information and interesting related facts. The layout is accessible and easy to use to extract information or make comparisons between the bridges. Useful to link to DT topic on bridges or non-fiction writing reference material.
